Manifest is a supernatural drama television series created by Jeff Rake. The final season (Season 4) aired on Netflix on November 4, 2022. Let’s discuss Episode 3 of Manifest called “High Flight”. Joining me (Rike) are Mandy, Anna Maria and Evi. Are you ready for this one? Let’s go then, but don’t forget to fasten your seatbelt before starting to read this.
Q: Do you think Angelina (Holly Taylor) will hand Eden over if Ben (Josh Dallas) catches up with her?
R: She truly doesn’t seem like the type of person who would give up easily. She has that in common with Ben, I believe. She wants to win this game and keep her guardian Angel for as long as possible. I’m sure this whole cat-and-mouse game will continue for a few more episodes.
M: I don’t think so sadly. She went very far to keep Eden away from them, and will continue to do so, I think. Even if Eden gets reunited with her family, I think Angelina will try to do everything to get her back and keep her away from them again.
A: No, I don’t think so based on how she’s acted until now. Considering she actually murdered Grace (Athena Karkanis) to kidnap Eden, it’s clear that she will do anything to keep her. She has this strong belief in Eden as her Guardian Angel, and it doesn’t seem like anything can change that.
E: Angelina keeps going. She literally murdered Grace to get Eden, she definitely won’t hand her over. She will fight, and she will do whatever it takes, I guess. But she knows that they are onto her, she will need to improvise. I don’t know how she will do that, but she’s not letting her go. After all, she took care of Eden for two years. And I hate to say this, it creates a bond. The storyline is going very fast at this moment, so I suspect they will save Eden in some episodes. How? I have no idea.
Q: Daly (Frank Deal), Fiona (Francesca Faridany) and Cal (Jack Messina) being on the plane together, in the light. Do you have any theories or ideas about what Cal shouldn’t forget now that he has all the information?
R: I truly wasn’t expecting to see Jack Messina this season, but I’m not sad or mad about it at all. It’s glad to have him back, even though it might have been for this one short flashback scene. He’s part of this show, and hopefully we’ll see some more glimpses of him in these remaining episodes. Talking about theories or ideas. I pretty much suck when it comes to this, so I’ll just sit here and wait for them to solve the riddle themselves. I’m sure they’ll figure it out. I mean, they’re the masterminds after all.
M: That was truly the best thing ever wow. I screamed when I saw them popping up. I absolutely love that they brought Jack Messina back, along with Frank Deal and Francesca Faridany for a scene. It was definitely unexpected, but beautiful to watch. With Fiona saying: ‘’He has the answer now’’. I assumed it would be weather where they were at that moment, or what happened to flight 828 where they went to etc. But that’s just a wild guess. Every time I think I have this show figured out, they throw something else at us. I’ll just wait and see what happens.
A: It can literally be anything, but maybe he has some more information about the storm chasing them, and why it chose them. Or maybe he shouldn’t forget information about the callings. It was good to see Jack Messina back at least, even though I’m really starting to like Ty Doran a lot!
E: I don’t think he has all the information, which would make it way too easy. There is always something more with flight 828. Him remembering it is just a small thing. I’m all in for him. Remembering Daly and Fiona, I missed them. I also love the fact that Cal made the choice to go back. He had the chance to stay on the plane, but he didn’t.
Q: Do you think Eagan (Ali Lopez-Sohaili) truly wants to help Ben, or is he playing some kind of game with him?
R: All I know is that you should never underrate Eagan. He may be in prison, but this doesn’t mean he’s helpless. You never know what to expect when it comes to his character. I would like to believe that he truly wants to help Ben, but this show taught me not to trust someone blindly. Eagan knows how desperate Ben is at the moment. He might end up using this for his own good.
M: I don’t trust Eagan for one bit. With Eagan, it’s always like if you need his help, he wants something in return. I do think he would give Ben something useful, but if he would truly have his back, that is another thing.
A: I don’t fully trust Eagan, but if he actually helps Ben by revealing where Eden is, I’m sure he has something he wants from Ben in return. Eagan is unpredictable, and definitely not doing it only out of kindness.
E: Eagan is one of my favorite characters actually. I know he always screws things up, but I love the different dynamics between him and others. That’s the same for Eagan and Ben. They definitely have a special ‘relationship’. Eagan wants to help Ben, but only if it’s beneficial for him. He knows how to play his game, he always seems one step ahead. Ben needs Eagan, there is no escape in that.
Q: What are your thoughts on Eden communicating with her father through callings?
R: I’m not surprised. They’re family after all, and the Stones seem to have a long-term relationship. This might be helpful to reunite them. It’s about damn time.
M: I loved that. It reminded me of young Cal. I think it’s cool that they have another member of the Stone family drawing callings now Cal has aged up to his actual age. I think the callings are trying to get them back together, and that’s something beautiful. You can’t keep family away.
A: I really like that. It seems natural that Eden is also doing that by drawing the callings, like young Cal. It’s good to see Ben getting optimistic, and it feels like they’re close to reuniting.
E: I love that twist, it reminds me of young Cal. A family bond is a very special bond, no one can take that away. It seems like the callings want to make that clear. I’m convinced the callings will help them find Eden.
